If you have any invites it would be nice to have one. If not, I hope you really have fun with it. I will hopefully get one soon

HI bigguy... I already sent out all of my first round of invites (8 people) and have a pretty long list but will keep you in mind.

I'm not sure what it is you're testing, but I can watch this video and see everything you typed :) Hopefully that was helpful.

I am not sure what I am testing either. :) It's a WHOLE new thing.

I have a long list of co-workers and friends to send to first. By the time I get to ya' it will probably be public. Even so, I will add you to the very long list. Don't forget to sign up for it through the wave website. That's how I got mine http://wave.google.com

Slate just had an article about how much their tech guy doesn't like Wave because the real time thing makes chatting really self-conscious. Once you start having friends to share it with, I'd like to know whether you dislike that.

Well, I can see that but I don't see Wave as a chat client. I hate chat in any form so I don't see me using it for that. But today, I used it with a co-worker (in another state) to collaborate on a document and the live thing was awesome. We were on the phone talking and editing at the same time... SO much easier.

It's aggravating to me in that it is a pretty huge learning curve and a lot of the bells and whistles aren't automated yet. It's also having command line to server communication problems (my uneducated guess.) BUT ... that's to be expected in a limited preview. That's what people sign up for when we request and early invite. It isn't released to the public yet so I have to tell myself to hold my horses ... it IS cutting edge but we are some of the first to work out the kinks.

So, while it is a pain in the neck on a couple of levels... I honestly do see it being an email, conference (call and video chat), collaborative writing and dialog, file storage, file sharing and much much more HUGE asset. It has potential to change the game on photo sharing as well. It could definitely be an "email as we know it" killer.

But as for chat, you are asking the wrong person because I hate chat :).

Oh and I now have about 8 contacts. I gave my first invites to co-workers and some of my geeky friends got their own invites. Would you like one? I already had you on the list about mid-way down :)

I really like chat because I have so many friends who live in other states and it makes it a lot easier to keep up with them without incurring nasty phone bills. Although recently I've developed a problem with one friend who doesn't quite seem to understand that when my status is set to busy it means that I don't want to talk.

I would like an invite, thanks. :)

yeah, I know. It's one of my quirks. I TRY to get into chats...have ever since '93 and I just ... don't like it as a communication medium. Not sure why... You are definitely on the list for an invite but like I alluded too, right now, it's quite ok to wait a while.

I have Skype long distance which allows me to make unlimited phone calls in North America for $30. a year or less than $4 a month. Overseas is around $9 a month.
